Sortland Harbor is a modern harbor for passenger-, fishing-, container-, and cargo ships, while our warehouse connects transportation on land and sea. The harbor is located in the heart of Vesterålen and of northern Norway and is approved port customs by the EU.
We have our own container terminal with routes to Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas. Sortland Harbor is an innovative harbor with the competence for handling both smaller and larger project cargo. You can order mooring, water, electricity, waste management, storage, machines, food, medical services, taxi, and miscellaneous ship services.
The harbor area is home to Sortland Harbor KF, our passenger terminal, the Coast Guard, Laboratory for Nutritional Testing, Directorate of Fisheries’ Control Branch, and cold- or dry storage warehouses used by transporters and both domestic and international businesses. A marina for vessels of various sizes can be found near the harbor, but these lie outside the ISPS secure zone.
The purpose of Sortland Harbor is to be a connection and service hub for the local area and region, and to contribute to growth and development in Vesterålen. We want to cooperate with and be a seamless connection between harbor, commerce, tourism, business, and between land and sea. We are passionate about the development of infrastructure, logistics and traffic flow in Sortland and Vesterålen, and therefore we are working closely with the municipality to create a new harbor section. The goal of this new section is to differentiate and maintain the different services we offer, and to guide heavy traffic away from the city roads. All to further develop Sortland.
